MONA

Recently, a group of committed art students journeyed to Tasmania to explore the magic of MONA - the Museum of Old & New Art.  Students were impressed with the variety of different artworks on display and the vast range of mediums used by the artists.  A particular favorite was the work of James Turrell, and despite the chilly early evening, it was quite magical to experience the wonder of his Armana piece. The trip was fun and interactive with many site specific installations and work by many artists studied in class experienced in the flesh, including a sculpture by Julie Rrap, which is in turn an appropriation of the work of Magritte.

Art Show

The annual PCW Art Show opens at 6.00pm on Tuesday, 17th September.  You are warmly invited to come along & see the creativity of our students and also to hear from our guest speaker, contemporary artist, Naomi Bishop.  The fashion show is always a crowd pleaser and will kick off just before 7.00pm.

MUMA Exhibition

Our Year 12 students are also getting ready to show their work at the Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA).  It is a real privilege for our students to be able to show their work in such a prestigious gallery. Seeing the work presented in such a professional setting gives the opportunity to really showcase the work at its best.  If you can make it, we would love to have you join us in this celebration of their work in their exhibition “Fin” at MUMA, Caulfield on Wednesday, 9th October from 5:30pm.
