Lacrosse
On Friday, 6th September, PCW students travelled to Paisley Park in Altona North for the SCSA Lacrosse event. Before the tournament even began, the girls were up against it as the weather forecast was rain, hail and wind and most of the students had slept at the school for the Winter Sleepout! With minimal sleep, the girls piled onto the bus and began their usual pre-match routine of singing their favourite songs at the top of their voice.
The weather held off for most of the day as the senior team put in some solid performances; however, struggled to make the most of their many chances in front of goal. On the other hand, the junior team made it through the whole day undefeated, before meeting Mater Christi in the final. It was played in horrendous conditions as the day's rain came all at once. Mater Christi were determined and both teams traded goals throughout a very entertaining encounter. Ebony Norman, Abbey Burns and Amelie Mansfield put in some brilliant performances alongside Anouk Thaddeus as goalkeeper. In the end, it was Ebony Norman who was the hero for PCW as she scored the winning goal in triple overtime to take home the junior grand final, 5-4.
Congratulations to the junior team and well done to all of the girls who competed on the day!
