Performing Arts News

Students in  Foundation all the way to Year 6 have been enjoying their dance-focussed term of Performing Arts. The students have learnt about what it means to be a good audience member, how we can move our bodies to create different shapes and how dance can be used to tell a story. Some year levels are beginning to choreograph a dance of their own which they will be performing to their peers in the coming weeks.

The Foundation classes have been learning dance routines and will be performing these at assemblies (weather permitting) week 8 for Foundation A and week 9 for Foundation B. We look forward to performing these to the school community.

Year 1 News

Science

The Year One students have been busy investigating changes during our Science unit, Spot the Difference. They have learnt about reversible and irreversible changes through exploring the properties of melted icy poles and cooked spaghetti. Students have begun a Science Journal and Word Wall, where they keep track of our experiments and use their senses to describe the changes they see.

Year 3 News

On Friday the 28th of February the Year 3 students visited the Melbourne Museum as part of their unit on the First Australians. They spent a fun and educational day at the iconic Melbourne site, learning a great deal about the history, culture and customs of the indigenous custodians of Australia. Along with visiting the First Australians Exhibition, the students also had an opportunity to explore the Forest Gallery and The Melbourne Story exhibit. The students, and teachers alike, thoroughly enjoyed their adventure and chance to experience education in a setting outside the schools boundaries.
