Road Safety

The safety of the children is a responsibility shared by the whole Mount View community. Many of us are alarmed that a number of drivers regularly show disregard for the road rules. The Monash Council, VicRoads and Victoria Police have been notified that poor driving habits are putting students at risk each day. Some key areas for attention are:

• No U-turns allowed in Shepherd Road
• 2-minute Parking means don’t park and leave the car
• Use the crossing when the flags are displayed
• Don’t park over the driveways
• Don’t park near the crossing
• No double parking

School staff regularly speak with offending parents who drive poorly. In order to avoid embarrassment I implore all parents to rise to their responsibilities as drivers. Offenders can expect to be fined by Monash Council or VicRoads.
