What's Happening

Stage 5 Curiosity Clubs

Stage 5 have been busy working on design and technology projects as part of their Curiosity Clubs. We have seen some fantastic abstract art, tote bags being sewn and  bird feeders being made.  The sailors had a great time at Lake Canobolas on Friday learning to safely set up the sailboats.

Breakaway Clubs

Our school has grown by over 50% in the last few years and students’ interest have also grown and are quite varied. Our school has introduced Breakaway groups during break times to further support the engagement of our students and to ensure they feel connected with others. These groups are designed for students with similar interest who wish to have an alternative to the playground. For example, a Positive Power Walk enables staff and students to walk around outside areas near the school; the Chill Zone, where students can relax in a quieter setting; Karaoke Klub, where you can sing it out to your favourite song; the Study Zone, where students can learn something new and interesting; Dance group for both junior and seniors; Choir for our budding singers where they can practice for concerts, eisteddfods and other performances; and the Breakaway Café where students learn café style skills and staff can support them by buying coffee, hot chocolate or lattes. The Coding and Robotics group will start up soon as well. Staff allocated to these groups have an interest in the area and will be working with the students during the school term. A lot of fun is happening during break time at Anson Street School.
