Year 7 Camp- Pyke

House Pyke

On the 11th of February, the Year 7 students of Pyke House embarked on their first camp for 2019 to The Summit. The outdoor adventure park was a great place for students to get to know one another, for teachers and students to interact outside of the classroom and for everyone to develop important life skills.

The camp included a large array of activities, ranging from mind exercising puzzles through to fear confronting rope bridges and high-wires. The students excelled at all the activities and not only learnt to conquer their own fears and insecurities but helped to encourage and support others through theirs.

The camp leaders were a great support to the students and made the experience all the more exciting. The final day at camp saw the students participate in the Monster Run. This obstacle course required students to work in teams to support, encourage and drive each other all the way to the finish line and getting to roll around in the mud made it all that much for fun!

The students and teachers of Pyke had the best time. An experience and life skills that can be carried on throughout their time at our college.
