Remembering Kate...

The Parents' Association would like to take this opportunity to share with you all our memories and thoughts of Kate Henderson who sadly passed away last Friday.

At the first meeting that Kate attended for the PA she put her hand up to take on the role of co-president with her her good friend Megan. A brave act indeed, especially since neither had ever set foot in a meeting.

It wasn’t long before we realised that we had scored well with this lady! Kate had a calm and peaceful way of dealing with issues and seemed to be able to keep everything running very smoothly and on time. With a wicked sense of humour, wild hair and bright red lippy she added a new uniqueness to our group! Lasting friendships were formed and many behind the scenes meetings over coffees or brekky were had. While Kate was battling illness many had no idea, but she soldiered on and was most upset when she couldn’t make it to an event or chair the meeting. She never wanted to let us down or leave us one helper short, she should have been thinking of herself but we never saw that. Her generous and kind spirit made Kate such a breeze to work alongside…. "Keep it simple so everyone’s workloads were light" she often said. Kate was never prouder than when talking about her daughter Fionnuala and her musical achievements.

We will miss you terribly Kate – A beautiful lady with a great sense of community.

Our thoughts are with Bob, Fionnuala and  family at this sad time.
