Year 9

Year 9 News

Year 9 students have begun the year in a hurry, not only getting into classes and coursework but also experiencing their first city excursion of the year.

Students have mostly settled really well coming back in 2019 following the three weeks of Headstart in 2018. There have been some teething issues with students unsure of new classrooms on their timetable, locker changes and still some uniform being sorted out.  As a teaching team, we would hope that all students have now worked through some of these issues and are now set up with correct equipment (pens, books, netbooks, etc) and correct uniform (school shoes, business pants/shorts, etc) ready to tackle the rest of the term and year ahead.

The first excursion was in week 3 and students visited the Melbourne Museum and the Melbourne Magistrates Court. It was pleasing to see excellent numbers attending all days and students engaging with all the activities provided. There were some interesting experiences for the students, including cancelled trains, long walks and even some being evacuated from the Magistrates Court. All of these help set the students up for our excursions and week long trip later in the year.
