Education Week and Community Engagement

Education Week across Victoria begins on Sunday 21st May.  The theme for Education Week this year is  ‘Healthy Mind, Healthy Body’.

On Wednesday 24th May at 9.15am, we invite family members to the Bundoora Campus for a tour of our facilities and programs with a healthy mind and healthy body focus.

In our previous newsletter, I advertised that we will invite family members to Concord School for an activity on Friday 26th May with set times for each campus.  Friday 26th May remains the day for this event, however times for each campus have changed slightly; we would like Bundoora Campus families to attend from 9.15am to 10.30am and Watsonia Campus families from 11.30 to 12.30pm.

Friday 26th May sessions;

Bundoora Campus

9.15 to 10am: Meet and chat with Christine Pillot and Karen Jordan to prepare morning tea (cut up fruit) to take into classrooms.

10 to 10.30am: Parents in child’s classroom to participate in activity / game then share fruit for morning tea.

Watsonia Campus

11.30 to 11.45am: Meet and chat with Christine Pillot and Karen Jordan to prepare fruit to take into classrooms.

11.45 to 12.30pm: Parents in child’s classroom to participate in activity / game then share fruit with lunch.

Secondary Sports Day

SHJ VCAL class have organised the Secondary Sports Day this year.  This will be on Thursday 25th May as it fits in perfectly with the Healthy Mind, Healthy Body theme for Education Week.  All Secondary students are to wear their sports uniform on this day.  Further details of the structure of the day will be sent home next week.

School Photos

Wastonia campus students had their professional school photos taken on Monday.  The photographers will be attending Bundoora Campus on Monday (15th May) to take individual and class photos.  You should have received order forms; please return these by Monday 15th May.

Book Fair at Bundoora Campus

The Book Fair is currently running in the Bundoora Campus library.  All students at the Bundoora Campus have an opportunity to view a wide range of books on display that are available for sale from Scholastic Books.  Once students have visited the fair they will take home information on how to purchase a book of their choice from the fair.
