MUSIC CAPTAIN'S REPORT

As 2020 begins the Music Program at St Andrews Christian College is back up and running for what looks to be another wonderful year. With rehearsals for the various ensembles starting up over the previous few weeks, I have enjoyed seeing fellow students eager to get back into it.

On the horizon for our program are a few events which we are busy preparing for. First up is the College Open Day on Friday March 6th, where prospecting parents will be able to hear various groups in an open rehearsal type setting throughout the morning. For a number of our Vocal Ensembles as well as our incredible Jazz Band, the final few weeks of this term hold key rehearsals as we prepare to head to Mount Gambier to perform at the Generations in Jazz festival in early May.

In particular I have been really encouraged to see the enthusiasm of the younger students especially in the Vocal Project as they prepare for their first trip to Generations. Pair this with the handful of older students who have been attending their rehearsals intermittently to help them learn their music, and what results is quite a special experience that sees students form bonds across the year levels.

Overall this has been such a promising start to this year and I can't wait to see what we will achieve!

DAISY PULLS IT OFF

Daisy Pulls It Off! - Rehearsals
Daisy Pulls It Off! - Rehearsals

I am so excited to be able to invite you all to this year’s VCE Theatre Studies Unit 3 production of Daisy Pulls It Off! This is an energetic comedy set in a 1920s boarding school. There’s laughter, mystery, a touch of romance, and even a hockey game!

It features the magnificent students of the Year 12 Theatre Studies class, who are not only acting in the play, but are responsible for the set, props, sound, lighting, costumes and makeup. This performance forms part of a SAC, but is also sure to be a whole lot of fun!

There will be three shows in the last week of term:

Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th March,

all commencing at 7:00pm in the Drama Space.

Adult tickets cost just $10. It’s a very family-friendly show, so bring yours kids! Student tickets are a bargain at $5. Bookings are now open via the link here https://www.trybooking.com/BINTD. Last year we sold out, so get in quick to avoid disappointment.

Students in the class are: Tiffany Adam, Lachlan Ahearn, Katelyn Farmer, Emilie Hughes, Chloe Iskandar, Geraldine Li, Amy Muggeridge, Isabella Rakers, Becky Schenker, Karin Siahay, Tim Snooks, Amber Swank and Jolie Wong.

We would love to have you along to support our wonderful students. Hope to see you there.
