Teamwork at The Summit Camp

YEAR 7 MATHS

Astounding thinking, collaboration and strategising in Maths today!

Our two Year 7 classes combined for an epic open-ended challenge today. At the the Middle School Information Night some of their parents were also given the same challenge!

YEAR 7 CAMP - THE SUMMIT

Year 7 Camp - The Summit

Wow! The Summit Camp was Awesome!

It was where St Andrews Year 7 students faced a myriad of personal challenges: like finding their socks, staying overnight away from home, abseiling from a 17m tower and walking along a high wire. And then together they overcame group challenges: playing ‘all in’, performing duty group tasks, running with linked hands in the ‘Monster Challenge’ through mud and enthusiastically cheering on their teams when versing the teachers on Game Night. I think both students and teachers are still recovering!

We are so blessed to work with inspiring students and look forward to seeing the fruit of their courage and camp experiences along with the developing of their faith this year.

THE SUMMIT CAMP - HIGHLIGHTS

Year 7 camp was like no other, we got pushed out of our comfort zone doing things other people will only dream of - from sleeping in big tents to running through mud! It was also an experience to see God’s beautiful nature all around us.

Camp was so exciting! We got to do really fun outdoor activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, high wire and more. We got really muddy in the best mud course ever!

The camp was amazing: we worked in groups and created new friendships. We learned to work as a team and faced some of our worst fears. The activities were thrilling and really fun.

Summit camp was AMAZING! The food was yummy, and it was fun sleeping in a tent. I will remember the flying fox forever.

I learned to face my fears and push myself. Some activities were scary at first, but when I finished, I had no regrets. Having fun with my friends is always a big part of most camps.
