St Andrews CC Year 9/10 Cricket Team

CRICKET ON HOME TURF!

On Wednesday 5th February St Andrews Christian College welcomed the opportunity to host our first official CSEN 'HOME' Cricket match at Walker Reserve. This is a BIG step for sport at the College, that we can now HOST nearly all our sporting matches either at Walker Reserve or Egan Lea Reserve and is a BIG answer to our prayers!

In past years we have been rostered nearly all away games due to the former lack of available facilities. As we continue to grow as a College and further the sport programs offered, it is a blessing to create for our students the opportunity to have a HOME ground and foster the sense of mate ship and team players we love to have represent St Andrews in sport.

To kick off the season it was a delight to host Belgrave Heights Christian School to play our 9/10 cricket team. Though the game was a close one, it was a loss for St Andrews boys, however it wasn't lost that we could at least we could play at HOME – Thank you God!

ST ANDREWS NETBALL CLUB

It’s a new year for St Andrews Netball Club, our 5th Year to be exact and we are very excited to have 8 teams and over 70 girls playing netball from across Years 3-11. It is a pleasure to be able to provide players with not only a fitness opportunity but a fantastic environment for them to connect with their friends outside the classroom and to make new friends across different year levels, to socialise and to compete healthily.

Last Saturday was the first game of the season. Many girls are getting to play together in new teams for the first time. Our amazing coaches are getting to see their players on the court, performing their hearts out. And it’s also such a joy to watch the parents supporting on the sidelines. Needless to say we are very excited about the year of netball that stands in front of us.

We would also like to officially welcome Penelope Knight onto our board and as our Head Coach. Penelope comes to us with a wealth of netball knowledge and experience and is very excited after being with us for 6 months now to help us develop the skill set of our coaches and therefore our players. She has already given one of many coaches workshops that she will conduct this year and is very much looking forward to supporting our coaches.

I would also like to introduce you to our board members; feel free to chat to any of them when you see them around supervising training or picking kids up from school. They would love to share more about our netball program with you.
