FIRST AID NEWS

Dear Collingwood College community,

As we come to the end of the year, we would appreciate it if families with students with medicines stored at school please:

  • Check that the medicine/s will be in date for the start of 2020. If not, we request new medicines bought to school on the first day back of 2020. Please keep a list of the expiry date of the medicine for your own records and their timely replacement.
  • Please check your child's medical plans are also current for their medical needs. If you are updating plans with your medical practitioner, please also ensure a colour signed copy is handed into our office staff to update your child's files asap.
  • Utilise our Compass portal to alert all your child's teachers with any medical issues or relevant information that may occur over the Christmas break.
  • Please sign and send back any Individual Risk Assessments for processing in the office.

Thank-you in anticipation of your support

Sam Luck

Acting School Principal

THANK YOU FROM SCHOOL COUNCIL

Members of the School Council have greatly valued the engagement of the school community in the workings of the school throughout 2019. In particular we want to say a big thanks for everyone’s involvement in the big events such as Spring Fair, as well as the daily and weekly supports that parents and other school community members put in to making our school a fantastic place.

We know that the decision to put a synthetic surface on the front oval has been challenging for some members of our community over the past few months and we want to thank Sam Luck our Acting Principal for a highly consultative process, with many and various inputs, followed by an operational decision in the best interests of the school, which is a requirement of the Department of Education.

As a result of concerns expressed by some parents about the need for clearer whole-of-school communications, our communications sub-committee has been planning for several community meetings in 2020 to provide opportunities for open discussion about school activities and ways to get involved.   In the meantime, the sub-committee has set up a new web-link to help people open the regular school newsletter more easily. It has already improved our open rates.

Please have a safe and happy break over the summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in Term One with a full program of activities to look forward to in 2020.

Warm regards from Cath Smith, President and Maya Starr, Vice-President

The students were treated to a sausage sizzle and were very excited to attend this event.
