Chess Team Makes its Mark

Our chess team is gaining plenty of experience despite the COVID-19 restrictions.

Chess competitions are continuing in an online format and our students have participated in five tournaments against schools from regions including Ballarat, Geelong, Monash, Albury-Wodonga and Subiaco.

The team has four bronze medals and one silver medal to its credit, along with an individual silver medal.

Regular online coaching from Russian Grand Master Julia Ryjanova is helping them prepare for the Diocese Championships in September and the State Championships later in the year.

We wish them well as they learn more about the game and its strategies and prepare for upcoming events.
