Well done everyone!
Our Year Prep and Junior School students have had a highly successful re-entry to school this week. For mine, the highlight has been the distinguishable noise of school children in previously empty playgrounds and classrooms.
Whilst our children have shown what we all know, that they’re so resilient, I’d like to acknowledge and attribute our successful re-entry to the adults in our community. There has been an enormous amount of work done by so many parents, carers and staff to ensure continuity of learning and maintenance of wellbeing over the past two months. This includes the adult adherence to our school’s COVID-19 Re-entry Plan. On behalf of the students, thank-you!

Our school’s COVID-19 Re-entry Plan undergoesa scheduled review each week. Alterations and adjustments to our school’s plan are viewable on the above link and are as follows:
Milestones and actions:
- 27th May:
- Until the end of Term Three our school will have a roaming cleaner. The cleaner will be on-site from 8:30am to 3:00pm cleaning high touch areas. These include, but are not limited to playgrounds, toilets, staff rooms, door handles and hand sanitiser stations. The cleaner will also clean specialist subject rooms during morning and lunch recesses. This cleaning is in addition to the standard scheduled end of day cleaning.
- Middle and Senior School students attending school for remote learning will have their attendance marked in the nominated Middle Classrooms.
- 1st June:
- Students in Years Prep - Two will resume nightly reading with school ‘take home books’. Students will take home four books on a Monday and return them on a Thursday. Books will lay dormant over the weekend to minimise potential cross contamination. The library will remain closed to student borrowing. Staff will continue to bulk borrow to maintain classroom resources.
- The school acknowledges the adherence to social distancing measures of parents/carers at drop-off and pick up and staff during recesses. Following an OHS audit of adult practices the school timetable will revert back to our traditional format:
- Entry and exit protocols will remain, with families and staff encouraged to continue to work together to develop individual student's ability to follow the ‘Easy In’ and ‘Easy Out’ process. This will reduce the need for staggered starts and finishes.
Prep Information Evening
At 7:30pm on Wednesdays June 10th and July 15th we will be hosting two ‘Virtual Prep Information Evenings’. The evenings, dedicated to those that have either submitted an enrolment or are committed to enrolling at Croydon Hills in 2021, will involve a detailed presentation of the 2021 Prep School Year, followed by a Q&A session.

Facilities Update
This week our new gates and fences have been installed in our new Prep Courtyard. Over the coming weeks we will be planting out the area with small shrubbery.
Over the last month a dedicated team have been clearing, de-cluttering and re-purposing spaces throughout the school. This has resulted in three small rooms being available for small group focus lessons by our Learning Enhancement (Literacy Support) staff and Allied Health staff. The rooms will also be of great use for our CHAPS parent volunteers when they are able to return.
