Holiday Message
As we enter into this holiday period, it’s important that we keep an eye on how much time our students are spending online. While connecting through social media is a great way for people to stay connected, nothing beats face-to-face interaction. There is also the less pleasant side to being online – the risk of negative experiences, which can often be quite troubling and hurtful in many ways. It is important for us, as parents, to be aware of how our children are not only using social media apps, but how they are conducting themselves with respect to their own online behaviour. Afterall, our digital footprint we leave is virtually impossible to erase. Once we post anything online, we lose control over what happens next.
As part of our Pastoral Care program, we educate our students on these matters. As parents, it is a good idea to educate ourselves. The Australian Government e-Safety Commissioner website is a great place to start. It has advice on the latest apps, how people are using them, how to report concerns, cyber bullying and many other topics. Below the link to the website – it is very user friendly to navigate. Have a great break and stay safe online.

Amazing Visual Arts
Miss Moon's Year 9&10 2D Visual Arts class has been working on themes of Cubism and Fragmentation. The students created these beautiful geometric creatures by fragementing their original forms before painting them in a monochromatic colour scheme using gouache.
