National Simultaneous Story Time

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is an annual event where a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously across the country. Now in its 20th year, NSS is a vibrant event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy.

NSS was held on Wednesday 27 May at 11am with Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas by Lucinda Gifford, a fun adventure about two fabulous chickens who dance at the local jazz club!

Dr Lynda Schulz read to her English class, 7W. The play was dramatically performed by Library staff, Mrs Green, Mrs Low and Mrs van der Meer who donned lots of glam, glitter and feather boas for the event. Our school’s multi-talented General Assistant, Jeff Williams took on the role of the nightclub manager in an Academy Award winning performance.

The event was enjoyed by all and we look forward to participating in next year’s event to celebrate reading, storytelling and performance.
