Message from College Council President

It seems like we have blinked and the year has whizzed by! We are already well into Term 2 and so much has happened! Firstly, I would like to give my sincere thanks and congratulations to every member of the DSC Community, from parents and carers to teachers and of course students, for adapting to our remote teaching model so seamlessly amongst the chaos that is life with COVID-19! 

After catching up with the leadership team at our School Council Meeting, I was blown away by the amount of work that has gone on behind the scenes to make everything happen and continue now to adapt back to face to face learning.

My heart was full with the amount of care, compassion and genuine concern the teachers have for the welfare of students and colleagues alike. It fills me with pride to see how everyone is looking out for one another and how still, in these challenging times, teachers are open to listening and receiving feedback from students, as well as just getting on with the job! If I could go around and hug every single member of staff (both teaching and support) I would, but virtual hugs will have to be the norm for the time being!

I would also like to thank and welcome the new College Council for 2020. Some of you will notice that I am still here! I was very honoured to be appointed as a community member to continue to serve the DSC community. I would also like to introduce the council to you all and look forward to seeing you at some of our regular community events once social distancing restrictions allow us to resume some form of connecting.

As with everyone, my business has been transformed into the virtual world too, fitting women all over the country via Zoom! Who would have thought you could fit women for lingerie via video conferencing! How has your business been transformed in this new era? I would love to hear your stories!
