Principal's Message
School life is steadily returning to 'normal', but there are still restrictions in place and everyone's observance of these is essential to ensure that the health and well being of our students and staff are protected.
For now these events must remain on hold;
• School camps
• Excursions, including interstate
• Parent attendance at assemblies and other school events (e.g. graduation ceremonies)
• Parent volunteers – e.g. parent reading volunteers (canteen and uniform shop volunteers are permitted)
• School based activities that involve large gatherings of adults are not permitted at this time. These include parent/community gatherings such as parent functions, working bees, fundraisers, school barbeques, large parent information evenings, and large cultural events. These will continue to be reviewed and assessed based on AHPPC and NSW Health advice and may be permitted at a later date.
Universities, TAFE and colleges have begun hosting online information events and experiential opportunities for prospective students, parents and carers to gain a greater insight into offered courses and available scholarships. I encourage you to always refer to the careers page in our newsletters for important information to help you or your child make well informed decisions about careers and further studies. It's never to soon to begin exploring exciting opportunities.
The functionality of our school app continues to grow with parents and carers now able to complete and submit various forms online. You'll find more information about the SKOOLBAG app and how to download it on the last page of this newsletter.
Another service we have recently implemented is an EFTPOS facility at our school canteen. This service makes life easier for students, parents and careers and we are pleased to be able to offer it.
Again, I'd like to thank parents, carers, students and the wider community for helping to ensure we keep our school as safe as possible for students and staff during the COVID-19 phase. Hopefully, if we all continue to observe public health protocols, next term we may see further lifting of restrictions.
Yours sincerely,
Annabel Doust
Principal
