Assessment and Reporting

Teachers are busy gathering assessment data and beginning to write student reports as the first semester of the year comes to a close. This is the same as any other year, except that it's not! At MRPS, we are following Department of Education directives to reduce both our assessment schedule and reporting format to reflect the enormous changes experienced throughout the delivery of remote and flexible learning this term. The continuation of quality teaching and learning is our main focus, and assessment data is being used to set fresh learning goals for each student. You will be able to read about your child's progress over the last semester as well as their new learning goals in the reports coming out at the end of this term.

Student Self-Reflections

Students have completed a newly designed 'Student Self-Reflection' entitled, 'When Miners Rest Primary went remote...' These will be shared with families at the same time as reports. Teachers will post the reflections on SeeSaw or Showbie. I'm sure they will prompt some lovely conversations about how remote learning was different or the same, and what your child found particularly memorable about this time in their education. When these are posted, please share a comment back to your child's teacher.
