MASS AND MORNING PRAYER

Classes that gather for before-school liturgy on a Wednesday during this term will be celebrating one of the Church’s daily prayer services known as Lauds (morning prayer). This time of prayer comprises of psalms, readings and prayers which are designed to welcome the day and ask for God’s blessing on our endeavours as we begin our tasks. Connecting faith and life in this way seeks to lead students to a deeper connection with themselves and the God who lives amongst us.

PLENARY COUNCIL

The second gathering of the Plenary Council was held in the first week of July. During this time, more than 35 motions were put to a consultative (from the lay people, clergy and religious gathered) and a deliberative (from the Bishops) vote. Those motions that received a qualified majority in the deliberative vote were passed and then confirmed as the decrees of the Plenary Council.

After the November 2022 meeting of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, these decrees will be sent to the Vatican.

In accordance with Church law, decrees are not to be promulgated (actioned) until they have been reviewed by the Apostolic See.
