A MASSIVE congratulations to Scott (Year 11 Trinity) and his pacesetter and brother Damien Guerini (Year 8 Trinity) who completed yet another 42.195km marathon for Telethon last Thursday! This was Scott's 8th full length marathon and 12th 'Great Walk' for Telethon and Damien's 6th time as pacesetter. Since 2010 (when Scott was just four years old), Scott's Great Walk for Telethon has raised over $200,000!

This year, Scott, who is also a published author, motivational speaker and podcaster, completed the walk in a very impressive 6 hours and 40 minutes, just 2 minutes short of his personal best and smashing last year's time of 7 hours and 15 minutes. Damien did a great job as pacesetter and had to stop to wait for Scott on multiple occasions along his ride!

Scott trains hard throughout the year in the lead up to the day and also raises funds by running a Treadmill Challenge on the Telethon Weekend.

The busyness of Year 11 has not deterred Scott from completing the walk - he simply rescheduled his annual walk from WA Day to the winter school holidays to combat the exam period and has not let his mind stop him from making a difference. In the news segment below, he talks about how the walk has actually gotten harder over the years because he has doubted himself more as opposed to when he was four and "believed he could do anything".

It was lovely to see Scott's friends Lachlan Marshall (Year 11 Hannan) and Lucas Germano (Year 11 Barlow) catch the train 381km to Southern Cross to join him for part of the walk and provide support.

In the words of Scott "It's easy to make a difference - what can you do?"
