STEM Report

Term 3 in STEM

Hi everyone, welcome back to another term in the STEM room. I hope everyone has had a refreshing break and is feeling motivated for the second half of the year. A new term brings a fresh new round of topics to be explored. Check below to see what each year level will be learning about:

Grade Prep: 'Watch it grow'- Learning about living things and what they need to survive.

Grade 1/2: 'Get moving'- Learning how different objects can move and change.

Grade 3: 'What's the time'- Learning how the earth's rotation influences our day and night.

Grade 4: 'Friend of foe'- Learning how living things interact to create ecosystems.

Grade 5: 'Its electrifying'- Learning about electricity and creating simple circuits.

Grade 6: 'More than I can see'- Learning about the world of microorganisms and what affects their survival.

Along with new topics this term, we are also excited about the addition of a new 3D printer in the STEM room. After some teething troubles early on, it is up and running and test printing has been successful. Drop into STEM club on Wednesday during lunchtime to check it out.

I look forward to catching up with everyone, come and say "Hi" if you see me in the yard and tell me all about your holidays. Until then, stay warm and bye for now.
