Develop a love for movement

Welcome back to another exciting term in PE and sport. There's plenty to look forward to this term for all grades.

Grade 5/6

Our grade 5/6 mixed netball team and girls soccer team take on the next stage in their district championships. Both teams have been hard at training, honing in their skills and teamwork before their matches on the 26th and 28th respectively. This is a great achievement for both teams and we know they will do us proud.

Grades 3 to 6

Grades 3/6 are in for a great term as the most requested sports, in soccer, basketball, football and handball will be the focus in our territory games unit. In this unit we will develop important skills from each sport before putting them into practice as we play modified games of the sports.

Preps, 1/2s

Our foundation and 1/2s will focus on developing the key fundamental movement skills of bouncing kicking and catching throughout the term. Students will develop these skills as they play through fun and active games and activities that utilise each skill. These fundamental movement skills are vital for developing good hand-eye coordination, balance, fine and gross motor skills.

Gala Days

This terms gala day is a B league gala day where points and scoring isn't involved. The aim is for students to socialise with other schools, making friends and develop a love for movement and fitness without added pressure. Allowing students who don't have a passion for sports the opportunity to experience a gala day.

The sports being played are Endzone & Capture the Flag.

Hotshots tennis is also being ran during sport as there is an upcoming district tennis tournament. There will be tryouts for these teams over the next 5 Friday sport days and a team will be chosen to go compete against surrounding schools.
