Visual Arts
Term 3 brings the return of Visual Arts back to Roxy!
My name is Ms Popovic and I am thrilled to be joining the staff at Roxburgh Park Primary School; I have been warmly welcomed by both the staff and students here.
These first two weeks of term, students across all year levels have been working on self portraits, helping me to get to know them personally, their interests and art skills.
Prep and Grade 1/2 students are completing a self or family portraits using paper, fabric and yarn to create collage clothing/outfits.
Grade 3s and 4s have explored Pop Art portraits a la Andy Warhol using brightly coloured paper to collage their faces.
Grade 5s and 6s have shown off their drawing skills, by completing pencil portraits and filling in cut out clouds with symbols of things they value or important traits they posses.
Moving throughout the term, students will work through learning the Elements of Art. Students are welcomed to make suggestions for topics (I already know some students are very keen to make some dinosaur related art!).
