From the Learning Specialist

Dear Families,

Foundation 100 days of School: On Monday, our Foundation team celebrated 100 days of school. How great to see so many celebrating, all dressed up as one hundred year olds. Thanks to the Foundation teachers for organising such a memorable and fun day for all involved.

Grade 6 camp: The grade 6 team headed off to Camp Howqua on Monday. From all accounts the camp is off to a great start! Everyone enjoyed a successful day of skiing on Mt Buller yesterday and today begin onsite activities including high ropes course, flying fox, horse riding, archery and the giant water slide. Yes, a winter waterslide is an OGPS tradition! So many great memories are made on camps, they build on relationships developed in the classroom and further enhance social and emotional learning.

Parent Teacher Meetings: Thank you to staff and families for taking the time to come together and celebrate our kids and their fantastic learning achievements. There were so many reports of the positivity at being able to come together face-to-face. I understand that there were quite a few last minute cancellations and that our staff are really being flexible to catch up on these interviews as best they can.

STEM Stop Motion Film Festivals: Thanks to Rick KT for helping to showcase some fabulous STEM work in a different way. Well done to the grade three and four students who have contributed and created imaginative and interesting pieces.

Presentations at Network Conference: Congratulations to our Mental Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Andy. Once again, he wowed some of our regional Principal connections when presenting the Mental Health and Wellbeing Menu last Thursday. Well done, Andy!

Catch ups for the Grade 3-6 Athletics: Mick Armstrong has been busy catching students up on their last Athletics events over the past week. He is currently on camp and will present the winners once all the events have been completed.

Sickness at school: The middle of term three is always tricky to keep the sniffles at bay. Staff have moved back to ‘bubbles’ for their break times to mitigate the risks and will continue to ventilate rooms, have air purifiers on and generally encourage the students to keep up the hygiene and masks when indoors.

Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine,

Ann Miller and Kerryn McKeon
