This week we're hearing from 5/6 H

5-6H’s Lightning Premiership Experiences

During Term 2 and 3 Year 4/5/6 played Winter Sports. There were three sports, Netball, Softball and Football. All sports teams played games against other local schools and then we participated in Lightning Premiership.

Football Reports:

All our football players showed good sportsmanship towards the opposing teams.

Matty

The day was quite good all day and even though we lost every game it was still fun. The first team we played were the Katunga Swans but sadly we lost, 32-0 Katunga’s way.  The second game we played against St. Francis - they are a good team and really challenged us.

Softball Reports

The highlight of the Lightning Premiership for me was when I took an excellent catch – I just put my arm out and the ball landed straight my mitt!

Declan

I enjoyed Lightning Premiership because we got to show what we were made of while playing against other schools.

Netball Reports

On the court, my achievements were probably being able to pass the ball down or getting the ball from other players. Our whole team achievements were being able to cooperate with each other and showing good sportsmanship to the other teams, all though we kept losing we didn’t let that stop us.

Shaely

Some of my achievements were being able to get in front of my player and catching the ball and being able to keep on my feet all day running, jumping, walking, I basically never stopped moving unless I was scoring. My concluding comments would be, "Everyone did amazing and tried their best no matter what."

The Value of the Lightning Premiership

The value of the Lightning Premiership to me and my school would be that it keeps some students fit for those who don’t do sport on a regular basis. It also gives some of the kids who want to do that specific sport a chance to do it and it also gives some kids a sense of happiness if they like that sport.
