Monash sleep incursion

On Friday the 15th of July, the year 12 psychology classes had the Monash Sleep incursion, where we gained insight into sleep patterns, theories of sleep and sleep disturbances. One of our classmates, James Taylor, then voluntarily went to sleep, connected to devices used by sleep clinics to observe sleep patterns. While James slept, the class observed his brain waves in REM and NREM sleep.  When James awoke, our class was then shown different types of devices used by sleep clinics and doctors to help people who suffer from sleep disorders. The incursion was a great way for us to get a deeper understanding of what we are currently learning in class and how it is demonstrated and used in everyday life.
