Science - Ecology

Year 7 are just wrapping up their unit on Ecology. They have been working hard to research and construct a Field guide for an animal of their choice. The task focused on expanding their research skills using books instead of the internet which in turn helped to developed their literacy skills.  As a treat,  some of the Year 7 classes ventured down to the creek behind the oval to put some of their new knowledge to the test. Students were identifying biotic (living) factors and abiotic (non-living) factors that influence the ecosystem within the grounds of WHS.
