CONCERT TIME AGAIN!

THURSDAY 13TH OCTOBER

As mentioned last week, we are working towards a school concert in early term 4. Its been several years now since we've been able to hold a concert of course. We have tentatively set the date for Thursday 13th October, so circle that date in your diary!

With 2 1/2 years of chaos and craziness, it is unsettling to think that a considerable number of our children and parents in grades P, 1 and 2 may never have been involved in (or even aware of) many of the activities we would normally run throughout a school year such as school concerts, fetes, etc.

Our school concert takes place bi-annually and is held at the Capital Theatre in Bendigo. We don't have a venue in Castlemaine big enough to hold this event in one evening. The capital is comfortable for parents with good sound and light, and we can keep the backstage frantic noise of 200+ people from spilling on stage due to the warren of rooms and corridors below the stage. It works well and I'm sure once you are there, you'll agree its worth the drive.

A concert is a very complex beast consuming a great deal of time, blood sweat and tears. Parent involvement and support is always a crucial element be it helping backstage, working on costumes, music support, etc. When the time comes, we know we can always count on this community to answer the call. So stay tuned...
