'Happenings' in 3/4!

Week 8

Grade 3/4 have had a lovely week! Only one more week until a break for all!

Reading

This week we consolidated our learning about genres of texts, perspectives, information text features and main ideas. Lots of independent reading, listening to stories and online texts featured!  We wonder if the students can remember the other name for Lalgambook (Mount ???)?

Writing

Students have continued to enjoy working on their Google Slides slideshow presentation. We added improvements and effects to our slideshow, ready to do a verbal presentation to accompany the work  next week.

Spelling

This week our spelling focus was 'se' as in horse. Lots of words with this digraph were studied by breaking up the sounds, writing in joined writing, partner testing and more!

Maths

This week we revisited capacity and delved deeper into volume! Students enjoyed completing a 'mini project' where they had to create a 'creation' out of connector cubes, illustrate, find the volume of it and compare their's with others' creations!

Other stuff....

  • 'Chill Out Tuesday' and 'Fun Friday' were enjoyed (as usual!)
  • Thanks to those families who have made times to meet with Juliet and Miss Butler next week - we look forward to chatting with you about your child's progress this semester! If you still wish to make a time, please do so via Sentral, email your child's teacher or phone Jo in the office to make an appointment
  • We thank Jemma, our student teacher, for her hard work and dedication to 3/4B for the past 4 weeks! She will be back next week for a bit to finish off some of her super-engaging lessons and attend some Parent/Teacher Interviews too!

Keep warm and enjoy the weekend with your loved ones!
