The Year 5 BRACE students have been learning about critical and creative thinking through applying hexagonal thinking in collaboration with their peers. Hexagonal thinking helps us to connect meaning, and we share our perspectives with others. We found that although our understandings about critical and creative thinking are similar, our perspectives are different, so we aim to be very clear in communicating to others. Plus collaborating with our like minded peers is always engaging!
Mind maps are a useful way of showing lots of information. The students referred to their Mind maps to elaborate further about themselves to their peers. Presenting the Mind maps was excellent public speaking practise and all students actively participated in the task.
