Selamat siang!

Wow we can’t believe half the year has already flown by! 

Welcome to Term 3, we hope you all had a safe and relaxing school holiday break. 

In the last week of Term 2 students spent time reflecting on their goals, gathering evidence and sharing their highlights. Coming off their reflections we took the time to set new goals students will be working on in Term 3. Keep an eye out for these goals when you attend 3 Way conferences in week 3. In Maths, students completed a multiplication and division assessment that will influence the work we do in Term 3. In Reading, students viewed different multimodal texts and made comparisons using Venn diagrams. 

Coming up in Term 3 we have a jam packed term! Kicking it off with swimming. Students will be participating in their swimming session for the first 2 weeks. 

Our Writing focus is to ‘entertain’ and students will be completing various text types, including narratives and poetry. We will use the writing process to plan, draft, give feedback, edit and publish their writing. Our writing units will link with our reading tasks, looking at figurative language, character development and speech in texts. In Mathematics we are starting off with lots of hands-on exploration on area, volume and capacity. We will then be moving into our multiplication and division unit and undertaking problem-solving challenges. 

Our STEM and Guided Inquiry focus is Forces and Sustainability where students will be redesigning an invention after participating in explorational tasks of a variety of forces and researching sustainable resources.

Reminders

• Swimming items need to be brought in each day
• Keep your eye out to make booking times for 3 way conferences 
• Please bring in any clear containers if you have then (juice bottles, milk containers, dip containers etc.)
• Please bring in any cardboard boxes or recycled material that students will use later in the term for their STEM and Guided Inquiry project.
