Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents and Carers

It is hard to believe that half the year is almost over and your children have celebrated this milestone by sharing their learning journeys and growth with you at the  Student-Parent-Teacher conferences this week. We hope you have found the process of receiving the school report, having the time to go through it with your child and then discuss their growth at the conference, a good way to engage with your child’s learning. We would welcome any feedback about this process, so we encourage you to make suggestions to your child’s teacher or the school leadership team.

I would like to mention that the 2022 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open. Reading develops academic, social and emotional skills to prepare our children for the future. The Premiers’ Reading Challenge is a fun way to foster a lifelong love of learning in your students while they develop their literacy skills.

If you are interested in the challenge, you can register your child here. You can register your child as a Home Based Reader.

For students from Prep to Year 2, the challenge is to read or experience 30 books. For students above year 3, the challenge is to read 15 books. Students who complete the challenge will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier as well as former Victorian Premiers.

I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and partnership during this term. Have a safe and happy holiday.

Kind regards

Glennis Kerr
