Robotics

Year One mathematics

Year One students have been coding robot bees to explore the concept of location. The Year One teachers have integrated technology into mathematics class, demonstrating that technology is not a stand-alone subject, but something that can be part of learning experiences across the curriculum.

Junior Coding Club

This week was the final Junior Coding Club session for the year. Students from Prep to Year Four have enjoyed using robotics equipment including Blue-Bots, electronics kits, Osmo blocks and iPads for coding. It has been fantastic to see the children exploring a range of activities in the Robotics room at break time.

Year Five and Year Six

Students in Years Five and Six have been working creatively and collaboratively on various building projects in Minecraft.

"We did different parts so we can speed up the work" - Cibe

Student creations included an underwater house, a renovated mineshaft, a theme park, a temple, a secret base, a treehouse-cottage and a multi-storey mansion.

"You get to build cool stuff - anything you want" - Fleur

Students explored use of different materials and added features such as an aquarium with fish and sharks, and pressure plates that signal electric doors to open and close.
