ICT Report

Our ICT Program:
The use of technology has embedded itself as part of the learning environment & culture of Lyndhurst Primary School.
Our students are exposed to wide range of programs & technologies beginning in their 1st year of schooling in Prep. Junior school students use Apple iPads to investigate & explore the digital world around them, senior school students use Windows PC’s & Tablets to contribute to their own & others’ digital world, and to enhance & showcase their learning in all areas of the curriculum.
Lyndhurst Primary is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) school for students in years 4, 5 & 6, where participating students lease (or buy) a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 that they bring to school each day as part of their learning, and take home at night to connect the bridge between their home & their school.
We are also a Google Apps for Education school for all senior students. These students are given their own Google accounts (including gmail, Google Drive etc) which students use for a range of 21st Century learning, including cloud computing, collaborative projects & other selected subscription programs.
Lyndhurst Primary School also embraces (rather than fears) the emerging nature and importance of Social Networking.
All senior students engage in ‘Edmodo’ social networking with their peers & even their teachers. All of our students (junior & senior) are continually taught about the importance & role of being ‘Cyber Safe’ in today’s world.
