Middle School News

Genius Hour

Genius hour is in full swing! Middle students have been researching and creating their information reports and projects. It is getting down to crunch time and students have been tasked with having their presentations ready for our week 6 exhibition. Students will need to have their presentations ready by then and will need to finish this in their own time from here on out.

We look forward to seeing some interesting space themed projects in a couple of weeks.

KPS Community Fair

What a FANTASTIC day we had on the 19th  of October at our school fair. Thank you to all those families that came down and made the day an

absolute success.

We appreciate all the support from parents in donating to our class stalls and offering time on the day. It was great to see some of the middle school students getting involved in helping to set up and run their stalls.

Middle School Numeracy

This term we have been focusing on our knowledge of time. The middle students have been working on their understanding of 12 hour and 24 hour time as well as finding elapsed time. Telling time and understanding time is a very important life skill. We would like to encourage students to wear watches to school if they have one, and to keep practicing using a range of clocks to tell the time at home.

Swimming

The middle students have shown absolute resilience all week with the craziness of swimming. We have been so lucky this week with our beautiful warm weather. It has been great to see everyone having a go and being the best the can be! They have been great role models for our school while attending the Kilsyth Memorial Pool and the students should be proud of all the new skills they learnt throughout the week.
