Reconciliation Cup Tournament at Worawa Aboriginal College.

EIS Netball

On  Tuesday 21 May, some our Year 10 and 11 EIS Netball students participated in a match against Hallam Secondary College. It was a fantastic experience for our students to participate in such a high quality game against a school that also has a netball program.

The EIS girls continued to show improvement on their technical and tactical skills throughout the match, but unfortunately were defeated this time, 32 -53.

We look forward to competing against Hallam again soon in the Waverley International Schools Netball tournament, to be held during the first week of the school holidays.

Thank you to Ms Knight for taking video footage for our post match analysis and to Mary Rowson for her support on the bench.

Worawa Aboriginal College Reconciliation Cup - Netball Tournament

On Tuesday 21 May, part of our Year 10 EIS Netball group, attended a Reconciliation Cup Tournament at Worawa Aboriginal College.

Miss Leah Shields has been liaising with Worawa Aboriginal College in Healesville and we have now built a strong partnership between the schools.

The day began with a traditional smoking/welcoming ceremony. There was also a live band, DJ and sausage sizzle.

The students conducted themselves in an outstanding manner, respecting the culture and meaning of reconciliation.  They were equally as impressive on the Netball court.  There were 14 teams in attendance, some travelling interstate to participate.

I would like to thank, Shannon Haley and Ella Nazzari of Year 11 for coaching the girls and Miss Shields for organising the event and supporting the students on the day.

Well done to all students in the program.

Year 9 SPORT

Congratulations to all of the 9/10 students who participated in the Yarra Division Girls Netball competition.

Lilydale High School had four teams taking part. Two teams in Section A and two teams in Section B.

All students played extremely well, showing great skill, composure and team spirt. This determination and skill lead all teams finishing top of their pool which meant they played against each other in the Grand Final.
