Term 1 Sport Review
Term 1 is always a busy term in sport. Year 7 boys and girls played in the district volleyball and represented the college extremely well. Both teams just missed out on finals but should be proud of their effort in a very strong competition. Year 8 boys had a team in district tennis and had a great day. It is always a pleasure to take Scoresby teams out on sport and I would like to thank Mr Barnett, Ms Rooke and Miss Casey for giving up their time to take teams out to District Competitions.
A very warm day on March 6 greeted us on our annual College Athletics Carnival at the Knox Athletics Track. It is the only time that the college can get together as one and have great day which indeed we did. The competition was fierce and everyone had a wonderful time.
The final results and age group champions are as follows:
1st – Bradman 1038 points.
2nd – Dunlop 963 points.
3rd – Chisholm 926 points.
4th – Sutherland 733 points
Age Group Champions:
13 year Female – Paige Corvell
13 year Male – Rani Mitri
14 year Female – Melissa Butler
14 year Male – Mason Rimmer
15 year Female – Ally Kendt
15 year Male – Jordan Haag
16 year Female – Skye Nielsen
16 year Male – Harrison Roberts
17 year Female – Maddy Beet
17 year Male – Sam Myszka

20 year Male – Bryce Prissmann
The District athletics will be held in September and all students that came first in an event are eligible to compete at that carnival. A special thanks to Tracey Carpenter who gave up her time to be our official starter once again.
The District Cross Country will be held at King’s Park in Ferntree Gully on Monday 21 May. I encourage as many students as possible to be a part of this day as it is an excellent opportunity to represent the college against other Knox schools.

GIRLS TEAM
On Tuesday 20 March we escorted 11 very enthusiastic Year 7 students to compete at District Volleyball (at Dandenong Basketball Stadium). Out of this, 6 girls formed their own team and played against Fairhills and Upwey in a series of matches. Kaidance Berryman, Chelsie Cornwall, Lucy Harrison, Brooke Michaliades, Eisha Monga and Stephanie Wynne all worked very well together and competed in good spirits. The girls managed to win both matches in their pool to advance to the semi-finals! Unfortunately we were beaten by Upwey who were a very strong team. Still, the girls always remained positive and had a smile on their face which is the main thing. Hats off to Stephanie whose serving was amazingly consistent throughout all matches played on the day.
Well done girls, it was a pleasure to watch you and cheer you on!

MIXED TEAM
The mixed team consisted of Jordan Brincat, Rani Mitri, Will Edgley, Eryl Diesta and Joelle Westmore-Murrell. The team played a total of four games, winning one against Wantirna and were defeated by two strong Upwey teams and Boronia. The team is to be commended on their enthusiasm and their ability to come together as a team with only one training session. It was a pleasure taking the students out and watching them improve upon each game that they played. I saw the students become more confident with each match and they were very encouraging of each other. Well done!
