Basketball

Game time changes. Please note that game times have been changed for all the A teams, C teams and D teams from my original draft.

Congratulations to Darcy Gyzen, Tom Courtney and Michael Fakhoury who were selected to play in the ISA Seconds representative team at Monday’s ISA trials.

This Saturday is our last round for the season. Many teams still have a shot at semi final spots.  Some teams will be playing their last game for the season, play well and enjoy. Good luck to all teams.  Use the link below to see all of the ISA Basketball Teams Results:

ISA Round 9 – 1st XI v St Stanislaus’ College at Oxford Falls

The 1st XI welcomed St Stanislaus from Bathurst who have been celebrating their 150th year. With the toss lost by the home side, early wickets to Louis Mosmann (1-20) and Mackenzie Carrall (2-33) provided a good start before an aggressive partnership. Alex Bain (2-50) took two wickets in consecutive balls and Tim McLachlan (1-40) and Liahm Williams (2-38) took late wickets which left the opposition with a total of 9-198. Excellent catches were taken by Jordan Furlan and Nick McLachlan.

After the early loss of the in-form Tom Colgan, James Brown (79) and Adam Greenwood (46) put together a fine century partnership which featured very good placement and running between the wickets. Just two boundaries were struck in this stand which emphasises the amount of running that needed to be done. At 1-110 at the second drinks break the 1st XI had Stannies under pressure. However a flurry of wickets set back the home side’s chances of reaching the target. Louis Mosmann (21no) supported Brown but by the end of the 49th over the gallant effort was over as the 1st XI was bowled out 175.

In a very tight competition among the top four teams there is very little between them. There is a lot to play for with the final round against Central Coast Grammar School this coming weekend before the semi-finals.
