Alliance Française Berthe Mouchette Language Competition 2019
VCE French students recently participated in written and oral examinations as part of the annual Berthe Mouchette language competition conducted by the Alliance Française de Melbourne. For students in Years 11 and 12 this involved sitting a two-hour examination to test their listening, reading and writing skills across a range of topics. Similar to the exams set by the VCAA, this experience provided students with invaluable practice to determine their current skill levels and areas for future improvement.
On Thursday 8 August, our VCE French students also participated in an oral competition with members from the Alliance Française where they were required to talk about their personal lives and either describe a photo in French or discuss a mini detailed study. While their nerves were heightened prior to the competition, it was pleasing to see smiling faces as they left the exam room. Along with other French students across the state, we now await the results of this year’s competition. A fine effort was displayed by all participants. Félicitations à tous!
