Interschool Sport Report
Term 2 was very successful for many Nossal teams at Interschool sport. Nossal won 16 sports in total and the most out of our new Cardinia Division, followed by Kambrya SC and Kooweerup SC (even without year 7 or 8 team entries). Most of those teams have now played at region finals and here is a list of the teams and their results:
Thank you to all of the staff coaches and student captains that have given up their time at lunch to train, as well as given up their free study periods to go out and coach on the day.
Congratulations to all of the students who have represented Nossal so well at Region level this year, as well as the organisation and leadership shown at team training sessions.
A special mention to my Senior Boys Netball team who I have had the pleasure of recruiting and coaching since Year 9 and teaching my favourite sport. I was so proud of the teamwork and dedication shown to learning a new sport that none of them have played outside of school. They worked so hard at training, including after school sessions. They displayed amazing skill and sportsmanship at region finals and only lost one game and were very competitive at such a high level. The leadership shown by Ish and Rav was great to see as well as the improvement and team camaraderie over the past 4 years.
Year 12 students that have shown leadership in sport can now apply for the Australian Olympic change-maker program, which can be awarded to 2 students from each school. Please see Ms Pumphrey for more details as nominations are due this week.
