Sports' Carnival

Dear Parents and Friends

We had a very successful sports carnival. I was very impressed at how positively all the students participated and how enthusiastically they encouraged one another. Thank you to Mr Jennings for his great organisation and to the staff and parents for all their assistance and support. It was great to see so many parents attend to cheer on the teams. Congratulations to our Red Team, Daly, who won the event. Thank you to the P & F for organising our Special Food Day last Thursday which the student thoroughly enjoyed!

Prep Orientation

Last week we welcomed our new Prep Students for 2019. They are a lovely group of children and are all ready for school next year. This Thursday morning is our second orientation session for all 2019 Prep Students.

St Fidelis' Twilight Christmas Carols

Next Thursday December 6th,  we will be hosting our annual 'Twilight Christmas Carols' in the Hawthorn Yard.  It is an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  Gates open 5:00 p.m. and the Carols conclude 6:30 p.m. All students will be performing from 5:45 so we hope all students and families will attend. Students are encouraged to dress up in a Christmas theme e.g. Mary or Joseph, Santa hat, tinsel etc.

BYO picnic, chairs, blankets etc. It is going to be quite 'cozy' in the yard so I encourage you to arrive at 5:00 p.m. to secure a spot! We will ask for tall chairs to the side, blankets and low chairs in the middle.  If the weather is not suitable, we will send out an alert via the school APP that afternoon.

Classroom Refurbishment

Thank you for your support by paying the Capital Levy that was introduced this year. This money supports the school to undertake important improvement and maintenance of our buildings and grounds. The money collected this year, will enable the school to take out a loan to continue the refurbishment work that we commenced last year. Next year, with your continued support, we plan to complete the classroom refurbishment in the downstairs Saunders Street building and paint and install new carpet in the foyer of the school.

Assembly

This Friday November 30th, 5/6AB will be leading our assembly.  All parents and friends are very welcome.

All families are invited to attend our special family parish mass this Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

As we near the end of the school year, there will be many events.  We hope that you are able to join us to celebrate. Please refer to the Dates to Remember page in the newsletter.

We do have a small number of families that still have outstanding school fees. I will contact these families, as I do require that all accounts be finalised so that the school is able to meet our end of year financial commitments.

I hope you have a great week and I look forward to seeing all families at our Christmas Carols next Thursday.
