GRADE 3/4 SOCCER CLINICS

On Wednesday 21st June the Grade 3/4 students had their last soccer clinic, this time run by St John’s Sport and Recreation Students and trained by Ben. Our students had a great time and really enjoyed the soccer activities organised and run by the St John’s students. They were a credit to their school and we are hoping to have them back next term perhaps for our Juniors.

HOCKEY CLINICS

Juniors enjoyed their last Hockey Clinics this week. Thanks to Nick and Hockey Victoria for organising this for us. A big thanks also to the Sporting Schools Program who funds many of the Junior Sports Clinics. Unfortunately we have not received funding for next term but we already have some ideas for our Junior Sport Clinics next term. Stay tuned!!!

We would like to wish all students and their families a great holiday. Enjoy a restful break and come back ready for another term of sporting activities.

SOCCER FUN DAY

Friday June 23rd

What a great day we had today for Soccer Fun Day! It was fantastic to see all the students and teachers in their soccer/sports tops or colours.

SENIORS

Seniors were involved in House Soccer Matches from 9 – 11. Grade 5/6 Houses played first with the Grade 3/4 students cheering for their House, then Grade 3/4 Houses played as the Grade 5/6 students cheered. There was a great atmosphere!!! We would like to congratulate Grade 5/6  Mackillop House who won their competition and also Grade 3/4  Mackillop House for winning their competition! Both levels will be presented with their trophy that will have their House engraved on it for 2023 and be kept in our trophy cabinet ready for next year’s competition.

JUNIORS

Juniors had a great time involved in rotational soccer activities from 11.35 – 1.55. Music was playing and students rotated around 8 activities focussed on developing their soccer skills. We would like to thank the Grade 6 students who volunteered to assist in running the Junior rotational activities. They demonstrated great leadership skills and assisted the Juniors to have a great time! These students have also received points for their House for the Community Spirit they have demonstrated by assisting the Juniors with their rotations.

STAFF VS GRADE 6 SOCCER MATCH

Following the Junior rotations, the whole school went out to the soccer pitch to cheer and support the Grade 6s and staff in their soccer match. What a great atmosphere there was!!!

We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the teachers on their win!!  Well done to both sides for their sportsmanship and humour during the match.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students who participated with enthusiasm and excitement. We would also like to thank all the staff for their support and enthusiasm. Days like this wouldn’t happen without the support of our great staff. And our fantastic P&F who provided our pizza fun lunch to add to the celebrations of the day!

We wish everybody a safe and restful holiday and look forward to next term with new sporting opportunities for the students.
