Dear Parents and Carers,
Last night our Year 6 students were confirmed by Bishop Danny Meagher. It was a beautiful and reverent ceremony and I would like to congratulate the Year Six students on such a special occasion. The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the Sacrament of Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and the anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, we are confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We are reminded of our participation in the ministry and mission of Jesus, and strengthened to follow Jesus more closely. I would like to thank Bishop Danny, Fr Allan and Fr Rafael for presiding over such a significant occasion. Thank you also to Miss Birchall, Mrs Shaw, Mrs Mankarios & the St Aidan's staff for preparing our students and coordinating the Mass.
Next Monday morning, 19 June, our Semester One Reports will go live on Compass. I was extremely impressed when reading through all of these reports. I can see many students have worked extremely hard and have achieved their personal learning goals. Students will now be setting new learning goals for the remainder of the year. I am very proud of our students at St Aidan's. Our teachers set high expectations and the students are trying extremely hard to meet these expectations.
Parent/teacher interviews will take place next week. If you have not already done so please send back your interview sheet so that we can confirm a time for you to meet with your class teacher. These interviews are compulsory. The purpose of these interviews are to discuss your child's report and areas of growth so far this year. It is also a time to talk about areas new learning goals and areas for further focus.
Our school 'glitter' disco is tonight. What a wonderful way for our community to begin the weekend together. Thank you to the P & F Committee and all volunteers involved in organising this event. I'm sure it will be a great night with lots of fun and dancing.
Wishing our community a wonderful and restful weekend.
Take care and God bless.
Warm regards,
Rachel Baker
