Grandparents' Mass

We were delighted to welcome many grandparents into our school last week for open classrooms, Mass and morning tea.

During Mass, we gave thanks for our grandparents as they are cherished members of our families. Grandparents bring gifts of wisdom, experience and love. They share with us their life of faith. We thanked God for their example and we ask that He blesses them with happiness and good health. They are truly gifts from God.

Thank you to all our grandparents!

Grandparents give us the gift of time: they listen, affirm and explore the world with us.

Grandparents give us the gift of wellbeing as they have a positive impact on our lives because they happily lend a hand at a moment’s notice and accomplish so much with us.

Grandparents are important role models of our shared faith. They embody Jesus’ caring and loving nature.

When the Year 3 students were asked to write about their grandparents, Leyla wrote this persuasive text:

Grandparents fill the world with love

It is very clear that grandparents fill the world with love.

Firstly, their hugs are as warm as toast and their kisses are heart-warming and soul-nourishing. They are beautiful. We adore them.

Also, they are as kind as Jesus and they always look out for us.  We will love them for all our long lives and not when pigs fly. They fill us with happiness.

Finally, you will never not adore them. They are full of love and joy. They are peaceful and gentle.  They are patient and kind.  They are faithful and trustful.  We love our grandparents.

For the reasons above, everybody should think that grandparents fill the world with love.

Lord God,

bless our grandparents with long life, happiness, and health.

May they remain constant in your love and be living signs of your presence to their children and grandchildren.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
