Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Grandparents' Day Celebration

It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents at our special day last week. The children really loved having visitors to showcase their work. The feedback from everyone has been overwhelmingly positive.

I would like to share an email received from one of our grandparents.

To Holy Family Staff,

I am writing this to thank you and congratulate you all on being so welcoming on Friday. I appreciate it is a big thing to open up your school and provide a glimpse into the incredible work you put into the holistic education of the children. In particular thank you .......... (teachers) for the obvious dedication you show to the children. I was able to see this first hand on Friday when I sat in your classroom with my grandson. The children are obviously very happy and relaxed in their learning. A beautiful Mass in which the children participated so respectfully.

Again thank you and keep up the wonderful work!

Kind Regards,

.........

Band Performance

Throughout the year our Holy Family School band has the opportunity to take part in performances. These performances are an opportunity for band members to get used to performing in front of an audience, and for parents to see how their children are progressing. They also provide a showcase for the school’s band program.

Being part of a band is a wonderful opportunity for all children. During their time in band, children learn to play an instrument, read music and work together with their friends to produce wonderfully energetic, exciting, and melodic sounds.

Playing in a band can significantly improve student academic success and can contribute to a student’s non-musical development in many ways. These skills carry over into all parts of their lives. Most importantly, the children have lots of fun!

The skills children learn may include:

• Increased maturity and self-discipline

• Increased concentration and focus

• Increased self-confidence and self-esteem

• Learning about team spirit and leadership skills

• Being proud of, and representing, their school

• Creative problem solving

Sincere thanks to our band master, Ben Miesch and the team from Teaching Services for their leadership. The band performances on Monday were highly entertaining, it was a joy to see the children's confidence and competence. Congratulations to all members of the band.

A reminder that our strings group will perform at next Monday's assembly. We would love to see you there.

Kindergarten Enrolments for 2024

We encourage parents to organise a time to tour our wonderful school to see "Learning In Action" and our "Point of Difference".

  • All children must be in compulsory schooling by their 6th birthday.
  • Children can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn 5 on or before 31 July that year.
  • Students should start at the beginning of the year.
  • Contact the school office to discuss enrolment procedures.

We encourage any family who is currently connected to Holy Family school who have a child who is coming to school in 2024 to complete and lodge an enrolment form as soon as possible to ensure a place for the new school year.
