OLA’s Little Long Walk
On Wednesday 21st June we will be hosting The Little Long Walk at OLA.
The Long Walk is a charity inspired by Michael Long's walk to Canberra to get the lives of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people back on the national agenda.
The Little Long Walk is a way we at OLA can celebrate and educate students, staff and the whole school community about First Nations People and Cultures.
We will begin with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony and then start our walk in and around our school grounds.
Last week the F.I.R.E Carriers painted one of the banners that they will carry as they lead our school in The Little Long Walk. We thank them for the time and effort they have put into this and other activities throughout this term.
The OLA community is welcome to attend. Wednesday 21st June at 9am
We are asking all students to wear a touch of Indigenous colours with their uniform on this day. This could be in the form of socks, ribbons, scarves, hats, flags etc.
