Assessments for Reports
As advised via email sent on 13 May, it is important to us that the school reports are completed using accurate and comprehensive data. In order to assess students against the expected standards we are inviting students from Prep to Grade 4 to attend the College at specified and staggered times throughout Week 6
Prep-Grade 4
From Monday the 18th of May until Friday the 22rd May, small group teaching will not occur for Prep to Grade 4 students as our teachers will be conducting face to face assessment on campus. The usual morning check-in via zoom with the full class will remain the same, and tasks for the day will be posted to Seesaw. Please send your child to their allocated session with a named water bottle, fruit and a snack.
Teachers will be in touch shortly regarding your students' group and confirm timing via Seesaw.
Grade 5
Grade 5 students will complete their assessment remotely.
Remaining at school after completing assessment
In the event that you require your child to stay at school after the assessment has occurred, please complete the College booking form for physical school attendance. This can be found on Compass Newsfeed.
It is vital that you complete a physical school attendance booking for your child as we must ensure that our student to staff ratios are satisfactory. If a booking has not been made, you will be phoned and asked to collect your child.
Throughout the assessment week we are still operating a remote learning timetable onsite,
College hours for Week 6 (18/5 – 22/05) are 8:25am to 3.10pm.
Back to School - 26 May
As communicated earlier this week we look forward to welcoming our Wyndham Christian College students back to school on Tuesday 26 May.
Given our smaller size, large property, and our commitment to providing a hygienic environment, we will be opening for ALL students in Prep-Grade 5.
Monday 25 May will be a student free preparation day for staff to prepare for the transition from remote learning, back to face to face teaching. TheirCare Pupil Free Day service is available should your student require care on this day.
School start and finish times will return to normal. Prep students will finish the school day at 3.10pm, with Grade 1-5 students finishing school at 3.25pm. Students may be dropped in the yard at 8.15am for an 8.45 start. No parents will be allowed to enter the school gates. Only one entrance and exit will be used.
Children of essential workers and vulnerable children will continue to be able to attend school for supervision from now until 22 May, please book accordingly.
From 26 May we will see a full return to onsite school education for all students from Prep-Grade 5, ceasing our remote learning program.
Parents and carers of children with complex medical needs are encouraged to seek medical advice from their health practitioner to support informed risk assessment and decision-making regarding the suitability of on-site education for their child.
We look forward to welcoming our students back - start practising your 'air hugs' now!
Winter Uniform - Back to School Term 2
Please make it priority to check and ensure your child is in the correct Winter Uniform when they return to school campus on 26th May.
As return to school dates are scheduled for Term 2, our supplier Rushford’s Schoolwear, 1/13 Barnes Place Werribee have updated their trading hours as follows:
- Shop will be open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm from Monday 18th May and Saturday 9am to 12pm from Saturday 23 May.
- We request that families coming into the store only bring one parent and the child being fitted.
- Social distancing measures are in place, please cooperate with signage and instructions.
- We are only accepting card payments at this time.
The uniform promotes pride in the school and an increase in student self-esteem as well as a sense of belonging. The wearing of uniform at Wyndham Christian College is compulsory. Winter uniform details and expectations can be found for your reference under Student Presentation in the Primary Handbook from page 28 or please email office@wyndhamcc.vic.edu.au if you require any further clarification.
Lunch Orders - closed
Unfortunately in the current environment after initially closing indefinitely, Cody's Café has decided to cease operations.
We are grateful for the mutually beneficial relationship we had built with Cody's Café since the schools opening and we are disappointed this has been unable to continue.
We wish Chris, his staff and his family all the best in their future endeavours.
This means that we will no longer have access to Lunch ordering via Ultimate Schools on Tuesdays and Thursdays when school returns.
We will continue to explore options in regard to providing a service to families.
Financial Assistance for Parents & Students with Health Care Cards: Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF)
Financial Assistance for Parents & Students with Health Care Cards: Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF)
CSEF (Camp Sports Excursion Funding) will be closing in Term 2, so don’t miss your chance to apply for FREE GOVERNMENT FUNDING, if you haven’t already done so.
Those eligible:
1. Health Care Card, Pension Card or Veteran Affairs Card Holders;
2. Foster Parents
It is extremely important to the College that all families who hold a Health Care Concession/Pension Card take the time to apply for this funding. Not only will you receive a payment that will be credited to your fee account, the College’s ongoing Government funding is based on the number of applications received. This can make a big difference in the programs and facilities that the College can provide for your children.
Please see the attached information for more details and complete and return the Application form as soon as possible via email to: mandi.hutton@wyndhamcc.vic.edu.au
College Enrolments
As we continue to plan for the next school year, 2021 (and beyond) we are keen to ensure that our valued WCC community families have enrolled their younger (or other) student siblings accordingly. We particularly wish to hear from families who are expecting to have an enrolment place for 2021. Whilst siblings do have automatic consideration for enrolment, their place is not officially confirmed until a $500 Enrolment Fee is paid for that student. If you have not confirmed your child’s enrolment for next year, please complete the application form using the link below:
https://www.wyndhamcc.vic.edu.au/wyndham-christian-college-enrolment-form/.
Our 2021 Prep classes are filling fast, your earliest response in this matter would be appreciated.
Please email Candida Nadar (Enrolments Officer) on enrolments@wyndhamcc.vic.edu.au if you have any questions.
