VET Music Mid-Year Concert

Thank you to all those who joined us online for last week’s concert by our Year 11 and Year 12 VCE/VET Music students. A lovely variety of songs and styles was presented in an entertaining 45-minute show. Thanks also to the Performing Arts Captains for hosting the afternoon event. It was a wonderful effort by the students and their teacher, Ms Jade Leonard. We hope to have some further streamed performances next term.

VCE Theatre Studies Play

The stage is taking shape for the VCE Play, Eurydice, which will be presented early in Term 3. Eurydice retells the myth of Orpheus from the perspective of his wife. The story focuses on Eurydice's choice to return to earth with Orpheus or to stay in the Underworld with her father.

The play is a 90-minute show, without an interval and opens on Wednesday 29 July. There will be three performances. We will also be trialling one live-streamed performance during the second show on Thursday 30 July. Tickets will still need to be purchased specifically for this performance and the link to tune in will be sent half an hour before the show.

Those who attend ‘in person’ will be expected to socially distance. Only every second seat, in every second row, will be on sale, with a maximum of 50 audience members per performance. Family members will be welcome to shuffle along to sit together, so long as one seat gap is left between you and the next audience members. Bookings can be made by visiting TryBooking.

Virtual Play Reading

While we did not present our third play reading due to examinations, the students from the Middle School Play, The Jungle Book, are planning a reading early next term. Stay tuned for details. The Jungle Book will open in early Term 4. Students will be returning to rehearsals shortly and bookings will open towards the end of next term.
